2011-2012 RESIDENCIES
Red Hill Elementary
From Monday, September 12th through Thursday, October 27th, CTB Teaching Artists will teach in-school dance and music classes and inspiring hundreds of children at Red Hill Elementary. The children will have daily dance and music classes for three weeks, working towards creating a shows about the extraordinary music and culture of New Orleans.
Crested Butte Community School
From Monday, October 31 through Thursday, November 17th, CTB Teaching Artists will teach in-school dance and music classes and inspiring hundreds of children at Crested Butte Community School. The children will have daily dance and music classes for three weeks, working towards creating a shows about the extraordinary music and culture of New Orleans.
North Fork Valley Schools
From Monday, May 7th through Tuesday, May 22nd, CTB Teaching Artists will teach in-school dance and music classes and inspiring hundreds of children at Hotchkiss Elementary, Paonia Elementary, North Fork Community Montessori, Crawford Elementary, and Vision School. The children will have daily dance and music classes for three weeks, working towards creating a shows about the extraordinary music and culture of New Orleans.
Punta Mita, Higuera Blanca, Sayulita and San Pancho, Mexico
Thanks to the generosity of Argie and Oscar Tang, CTB will bring its extraordinary program to more local primary schools. After three consecutive years of successful residencies, we are in the process of building a full year program in this community! We will be expanding and teaching in new communities bordering Punta de Mita from January through April of 2012. This international effort is made possible with the help of PEACE, a local organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the local environment and culture. The partnership formed with CTB for this program promotes not only a joyful experience in the arts for the local youth, but creates the foundation for a positive cultural exchange between CTB and the local community.
